Article by Benjamin Creme’s Master
From the inception of Share International magazine, Benjamin Creme’s Master provided articles to be published not only at the time they were written, but also whenever appropriate according to world circumstances. The following article, although written in 1987, cuts to heart of the reasons for the world’s current crisis, as does Maitreya’s Message No. 101, which we reprint below. Both highlight the basic problem and solution. “How, lacking sharing, could man continue?” asks BC’s Master, while Maitreya states: “The world groans for Justice. The true reason for man’s problems today is the absence of Justice and Love.” Surely advice we can no longer afford to ignore.
There will shortly come a time when humanity must reach a great decision. Troubled as it is on all sides by divisions and cleavage, a new approach must be found to the many problems which beset it. Without such a new approach, there is little doubt, an ominous future would await mankind.
Historically, there is no precedent for the present situation and conditions on Earth. Never before have so many souls co-existed on the planet. Seldom, if ever, have the divisions between the groups been so painful and deep. Never has man controlled such forces of destruction as are now at his command, giving him power to destroy the life in every kingdom. When such destruction threatens, man must take stock and devise new ways to proceed.
Of all the possible ways there yet remains but one untried. Throughout his history one simple answer has eluded man’s grasp. The principle of Sharing is the only one which will answer man’s needs and solve his many problems, for it is fundamental to the Plan of God Himself. Without sharing, man denies his divinity and stores up for himself all future woes. Without sharing, unholy chaos reigns and withholds from man the Justice which is his by right. Sharing alone provides the opportunity to establish God’s Plan of Brotherhood and to remove from the world for ever the sin of separation.
How, lacking sharing, could man continue? How, without sharing, could he hope to survive? So great are the dangers in the present imbalance between the nations that luck alone would not suffice to see him through. A deadly sickness — separation and greed — prevails upon the earth, and calls for drastic measures to effect a cure.
The simple cure is at hand despite the outer chaos. The long-drawn testing of mankind is all but at an end. Arrayed against the forces which still hold man in thrall, the Hierarchy of Light retrace Their steps and stand together under the banner of Truth.
Maitreya’s mission begins with an appeal to men to share. His knowledge of men’s hearts leaves Him certain of their choice, and certain of their readiness to make the needed changes. “Man must share or die”, has He said, knowing well that men will choose to share and live and to create with Him a better future.
Until now, all efforts to solve man’s problems have been directed to maintaining the present structures, however unjust they have proved themselves to be. The cleavages on every hand cry out for resolution and await the application of the Law of Justice.
Fear grips many today as they hear their leaders wrangle; a time is coming when they will leave their leaders far behind. Man is awakening to the call for freedom and needs only true leadership to set the world to rights. Maitreya has come to show the way and to lead men to brotherhood and justice. A new era opens under His wise direction which will demonstrate the true divinity of man, establishing the means of sharing and co-operation and thus fulfilling the Plan of God.
These articles are by a senior member of the Hierarchy of Masters of Wisdom. His name, well-known in esoteric circles, is not yet being revealed. Benjamin Creme, a principal spokesman about the emergence of Maitreya, was in constant telepathic contact with this Master who dictated his articles to him.
At every lecture he gave around the world, and virtually every day of his life, Benjamin Creme was asked numerous questions covering a vast range of topics. We draw on this large recorded resource and present here a selection of previously unpublished answers provided over the years by BC and his Master.
Some of the letters published here describe encounters which have taken place recently, and have therefore not been confirmed by Benjamin Creme’s Master. It is the writers’ conviction, born of their own intuitive response plus a familiarity with such experiences, which gives them the confidence to judge these encounters to be significant and meaningful personally and also generally. Some appear specific to the individual concerned while others speak for themselves in providing hope and inspiration to all. We present them for your consideration.
Dear Editor
On 13 March 2020 I was having a conversation with a dear friend at his home. We were talking about the many happenings of the time: corona, the stock markets, refugees, ecology. We clearly saw the need to change NOW on a global scale, from competition and selfishness to cooperation and sharing.
At a certain point in our conversation I said: “And throughout all these happenings Maitreya is galvanizing…” I was just about to mention his tremendous energies, His being overshadowed by the Spirit of Peace, the Avatar of Synthesis and the Buddha. But I only got as far as the word ‘galvanizing’. Immediately my friend began to gasp for breath, and I followed in the same second. Being speechless for several minutes we shared such a powerful surge of energy, knowing most certainly that Maitreya was responding, Who else could do this so powerfully?
It felt as if He was clearly indicating to us: “Yes, I am present in the midst of this, and yes, I am galvanizing mankind into right action.” It was a totally unexpected response. We felt very encouraged by this sign of His presence and help in this time of urgency.
Dear Editor
In the early afternoon, Friday 3 April 2020, in the middle of my afternoon nap in my indoor veranda, I suddenly heard a noise (reception of an SMS message on my mobile).
I woke up and opened my eyes. I saw on a window between my living room and my indoor veranda the silhouette of a person dressed like Maitreya in Nairobi; his arms were stretched as on a sculpture or painting of “the Sacred heart of Jesus Christ”.
It didn’t last long. I don’t have other details except that my feeling was one of astonishment. I think the person was Maitreya.
Dear Editor
When I was around five or six years old in my room in Lisbon, Portugal, on some evenings a very soft and pleasant blue and white light came glowing towards me from the top corner of the ceiling and woke me up.
There was also a presence in the room near my bed: somebody with only his chest and head visible appeared and seemed to protect me. Nowadays I still see this light often around me as if it was concentrated in a very small point.
Was the experience real? Who was the person near to my bed and why were they there? Does this shining light have any special meaning? Is the shining point I still see today the same kind of light as when I was small?
Dear Editor
In about 1991, I was driving on the Ventura Freeway going home from Tara Center where I had been working. The freeway is a very busy crowded freeway and I was trying to get into the lane to my left. All of a sudden there was a car right in front of me that I didn’t see, and I knew I was going to crash into it. I screamed “Maitreya” three times, and closed my eyes because I knew I was about to crash. All of a sudden, I felt my car move as if in slow motion and as if a giant hand slowly pushed it away and into the next lane. I opened my eyes and I was in another lane with no cars around me. Can you please tell me if Maitreya did in fact move my car?
We present here phenomena which, to the editors, are “signs of hope” and “signs of the time”. Fortunately, our current stock of phenomena confirmed as real and genuine by Benjamin Creme’s Master is fairly large. However, in future we will also present material which has not been confirmed. We undertake to be as thorough as possible in our investigation of each ‘miracle’ or ‘sign’ and will present them for your consideration only, since we cannot now make use of the confirmation and additional information which in the past was always provided by Benjamin Creme’s Master. Further details, when available, are given in the captions to the photographs.
The media currently focuses almost exclusively on the Covid-19 crisis, so it was particularly noteworthy that reports of an odd nature made news headlines recently. Strange light phenomena have been seen in the skies over Spain, the UK, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador and the Netherlands. Reports of sightings in late March and early April 2020 were so persistent and consistent that they reached the media. In Spain readers’ eye-witness accounts were reported on, and video clips were shared; some mentioned watching an object which glowed and twinkled with different colours, made erratic movements in the sky and was sometimes visible for as long as 30 to 40 minutes.

These ‘star-like’ objects were filmed over Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and appeared to change colour in rapid succession. (See also image below)

Whatever it takes. This is the new motto trumpeted by major central banks around the world in their attempt to save the financial markets. The authorship of this expression is attributed to Mario Draghi back in 2012, at a time when he was chairman of the European Central Bank (ECB). In the aftermath of the financial crash of 2008, the Euro currency went through an unprecedented crisis. Draghi then announced an unlimited programme of national debt purchases in the Eurozone, among other measures, as he was determined to save the Euro — “whatever it takes”.
Covid-19 and the central banks

Despite initial announcements by governments that the Covid-19 crisis would cost the world economy “a few points of GDP” it quickly became obvious that the world would undergo a severe economic recession. The financial markets began to plummet. The French CAC 40, as an example, had fallen by 37 per cent as of 22 March 2020 from its 19 February 2020 peak. The same happened with the Dow Jones on Wall Street. The same wave of panic washed over the entire global financial market place.
The hitherto rather silent Central Banks — the European Central Bank (ECB), the Federal Reserve, the Bank of Japan and others, suddenly woke up in fright and announced strong measures including their favourite unorthodox tactic of ‘quantitative easing’. The ECB announced a programme of €750 billion of purchases of national debt and other bonds, whereas the Federal Reserve enacted an “unlimited program of quantitative easing”, ready to purchase Treasury Bonds, mortgages, municipal bonds, short terms loans — almost everything. Unlimited access to liquidities for banks was on the agenda of the Central Banks in North America, Europe, the UK, Japan, Australia — and who knows where next?

Twenty five years of austerity in social budgets has thus revealed the lack of hospital capacity and the shortage of qualified staff, equipment and food, that became absolute necessities in the case of such a pandemic situation. Ebola, SARS, H1N1 and other epidemics had all occurred on a smaller scale, but that was not seen as enough to justify investment in healthcare.
The crude reality is that market forces, and the financial markets in particular, have imposed healthcare budget restrictions on governments for what are seen as “social costs” and not as “social assets”. The perception of ordinary people is certainly very different and the present Covid-19 crisis will awaken many of our fellow (world) citizens to their rights for a decent and well equipped healthcare system. If a central bank can create billions of Euros or US dollars out of nothing to buy back bonds, shares and debts in order to keep the collapsing financial markets afloat, it can certainly create money for healthcare and other vital services for people.

While the focus of all media at present is on Covid-19 only, we should not forget that on the frontline of the battle against hunger and extreme poverty, every day is a tsunami-like situation. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), some 820 million people suffered from hunger in the world in 2018, with more than two billion being subject to moderate or severe food insecurity.
As readers of Share International, we are aware that the ‘voice of the people’, encouraged by the Masters, will be the major power in the world to bring about the profound and necessary changes in our lives and in our economic, monetary and financial systems in particular. No doubt many will be the voices raised to demand the necessary changes. No doubt Maitreya Himself will be at the forefront of that movement. It will be the time to take all measures to save humanity and the planet: “Whatever it takes”. Call it ‘Green New Deal’ or ‘Green and Global Marshall Plan’, it will take nothing less than a huge endeavour on that level to change the world economy. A host of governments across the globe have declared ‘war’ on the outbreak of Covid-19, each calling for a collective national effort the like of which has rarely been seen before. While the virus grinds much of public life to a halt, World War II has become the go-to comparison for the current battle against a deadly germ. Both are crises that affect the whole of humanity; both show us that there is only one humanity and therefore only one solution.

A vision of the new
A glance at history reveals that it takes a period of acute crisis to set the stage for radical and systemic transformation, often for the better. The global flu epidemic of 1918, for instance, helped create national health services in many European countries. The twinned crises of the Great Depression and World War II led to the modern welfare state. But crises can also send societies down darker paths as we painfully learnt from the response to the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and the 2008 financial crash.
The scale of the coronavirus crisis is likewise so profound that we are provided with an opportunity to remake our society for the greater good and learn from the mistakes of the past that left us utterly ill-equipped for what was and still is to come. Only when the world comes together again and regards its problems as shared and society as more than an agglomeration of individuals competing for wealth and standing, will we be capable of solving this monumental task. Other ways have been tried, and have failed.
More people are in a position to connect the dots and be willing to act. They are the driving forces behind the grassroots movements across the world. They forge with vigour a vision of a new civilization that they believe is possible. They are the antidote to all manner of social ills and the architect of a more humane future that is within our grasp.
