Article by Benjamin Creme’s Master
From the inception of Share International magazine, Benjamin Creme’s Master provided articles to be published not only at the time they were written, but also whenever appropriate according to world circumstances. The following article written in 2011 points to our current crisis of injustice across the board, all now laid bare by a virus. For centuries we have turned a blind eye to the suffering of others; we have benefited from racial injustice. Now, at last, the hope is that we are embracing the reality of our oneness.
For untold ages, man has wandered the Earth for sustenance, gain, security and peace. As tribes and even nations, he has criss-crossed the planet over and over again, fighting with, and intermarrying with, a long succession of disparate peoples. The result of this endless wandering is the One humanity today. No matter the differences in colour, religion, tradition and language, all men are descendants of common ancestors and have evolved by the same means to their present state. That this present state undoubtedly favours some groups over others is the result of many historical factors, and not of any innate difference in intelligence or adaptability. Throughout history, groups have risen to prominence for a longer or shorter time, only to sink back into obscurity again, leaving their creativity to remind later generations of their presence.
All of this being true, it is essential for modern humanity to see itself as One, and the differences in appearance the result of relatively recent climatic conditions, together with the different ray influences which have manifested regularly through the emerging racial types. Humanity is still evolving in consciousness, together, as One.
Advancing together, each race and sub-race adds some new quality to the whole. The process of repeated incarnations ensures that gradually, each individual inherits the new knowledge and awareness of the epoch. If men truly understood the complexity and beauty of this process, gone forever would be the dislike and distrust, the ‘racism’ of today. Men would realize that, in truth, they are brothers, journeying together on a seemingly endless voyage of self-discovery.
When We, your Elder Brothers, work more openly, you will find that this truth is central in Our understanding of man’s nature and relationship. The human family is the nourishing base of our lives. In it we learn to co-operate and thus create together, fashioning the rich tapestry of our shared identity.
How, then, can men come to this essential understanding? We, the Brotherhood, will demonstrate this relationship in all We do, and men will come to see themselves thus, as brothers all. Sharing will bring men to this happy pass and will glorify them in their new demonstration of truth. So shall it be.
Then will men conquer the heights of achievement, sharing their knowledge and experience. Gone forever will be the false barriers which men have erected to keep at a distance their brothers, realizing them at last as themselves.
These articles are by a senior member of the Hierarchy of Masters of Wisdom. His name, well-known in esoteric circles, is not yet being revealed. Benjamin Creme, a principal spokesman about the emergence of Maitreya, was in constant telepathic contact with this Master who dictated his articles to him.
Share International has a reserve of unpublished letters which were confirmed by Benjamin Creme and his Master to be genuine encounters with Masters, or with a ‘spokesperson’.
In May 2005, we attended Benjamin Creme’s lecture in Paris with great pleasure and participated in the Transmission Meditation.
On Sunday morning, we decided to go to the Arab World Institute in order to visit the exhibition about Ancient Egypt. In the entrance hall, there was a big statue of King Tutankhamun but his name had been replaced by Horemheb’s in the descriptive text frame. As we were entering, we were suddenly immersed in a marvellous energy radiating from the statue; a kind of energy in which we felt perfectly well. The statue seemed to us to be a truly living statue! We were surprised by this phenomenon for many reasons in connection with the life and death of this Pharoah.
Would you please tell us whether this was a natural phenomenon? If not, from whom did this marvellous energy come?
Furthermore, we noticed that we were followed very closely, during the visit, by a tall and elegant man, grey-haired and dressed in a nice red coat. He was apparently concentrating intensely on the audio guide during the whole visit. Was there a relation between the phenomenon of the statue and that man?
My husband died in August 2002. Since that day I have had three nasty falls while walking in the street, in Hexham, Northumberland — just tripped, fell flat on my face — and I broke my nose. Some very kind people drove me to hospital.
And another time I broke a tooth, a tiny fragment of which is still in my bottom lip. But that time I was helped so gently by two men. One came from a shop near Hexham Abbey — I knew him. But the other was a complete stranger who sat quietly beside me for about 15 minutes while I was waiting for my son to arrive and drive me to hospital. He assured me that my tooth had not gone through my lip; otherwise he was very silent but so comforting.
When my son arrived, this man walked with me to the car, helped me into the seat, gently closed the car door, told me to take care. I never saw him again and later, when I went back to thank the shopkeeper, he said he had no idea who the other man was. I said they had been a "couple of absolute angels" and I have often wondered if my words had been true of the silent one.
We present here phenomena which, to the editors, are “signs of hope” and “signs of the time”. Fortunately, our current stock of phenomena confirmed as real and genuine by Benjamin Creme’s Master is fairly large. However, in future we will also present material which has not been confirmed. We undertake to be as thorough as possible in our investigation of each ‘miracle’ or ‘sign’ and will present them for your consideration only, since we cannot now make use of the confirmation and additional information which in the past was always provided by Benjamin Creme’s Master. Further details, when available, are given in the captions to the photographs.
Over more than forty years of unabated work to make known the information about the existence, presence and emergence of Maitreya and the Masters in our world, Benjamin Creme frequently made the point that world crises are spiritual in nature and find their most acute expression in our political and economic system of competition, greed, harsh materialism, selfishness and complacency.
Creme, as the ambassador of the Masters in the human world, reiterated the need to create a fair system of co-operation and sharing of the world resources, as our very first step on the path to our spiritual heritage. On many occasions he depicted the guidelines for the future economic system, if humanity was to make the choice of co-operation and survival of its own free will.
Consistently, he made reference to a global Marshall Plan that would be implemented under the supervision of the United Nations, as the first key pillar for the restructuring of our economic system along the lines of a shared monitoring and a fair distribution of the world resources between nations.
Despite abyssal inequalities of income between nations and between groups of nations, despite an unfair leadership of the world economic system by the G7 and then G20 nations for their own advantage, despite the predatory usurpation of wealth and power by the financial institutions and markets, despite the immeasurable suffering and misery of billions of people, this idea of a global Marshall Plan has hardly been on the political agenda of the powerful nations, nor even on the agenda of the UN agencies until now.
Created in 1964, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is the UN agency in charge of promoting a better integration of the developing nations in the global economy in order to stimulate their economic growth.
Among the measures that would be conducive to such a positive transformation, UNCTAD advised the following:
– End austerity and boost demand in support of sustainable and inclusive economies using an active mix of fiscal and monetary policies;
– Undertake significant public investment in clean transport and energy systems, in order to establish a low carbon growth and to transform food production for a growing global population;
– Design green industrial policies, through the means of a mix of subsidies, tax incentives, loans and guarantees, as well as accelerated investments in research and development in technology adaptation;
– Raise wages in line with productivity, as a key to moving to a fairer society;
– Regulate private financial flows as an essential policy to steer private finance toward these goals, as well as to curtail restrictive business and predatory financial practices.
The ‘Overton window’ is a term describing the ideas that define the spectrum of acceptable government policies. If politicians are to succeed, their policies must remain within this range of public acceptance. In order for politicians to expand their policy reach, they must either develop new platforms within the existing Overton or the public must call for new policies with a voice loud enough for politicians to hear.
In his writings Benjamin Creme maintained that one day humanity would be brought face to face with a profound wilderness experience of significant depth and impact. “The wilderness experience, particularly for the West, is the acceptance of a simpler way of life, so that all people everywhere can live,” Creme said.
Arising out of this experience, the world’s governments would be put to the test to prioritize and meet the true needs of their people. While few expected a pandemic as the initiating cause of this wilderness experience, the economic collapse springing from the pandemic, and the response of the world’s governments, which has followed the crisis to date, is in line with Creme’s writings and lectures.
The Covid-19 pandemic has provided a sharp and dramatic adjustment to the Overton window. In less than two months the circumstances that influence public discourse have been radically altered. This is a unique moment in history and the window can open wide at the present time if people demand substantive change and are willing to hold politicians to account. If the public leads, politicians will propose policies thought to be unobtainable only a few months ago.
Powerful US politicians are articulating policies that until recently had been considered too extreme and radical, with no chance of implementation. But suddenly these policies are not only becoming acceptable within the public mind but are increasingly seen as necessary. The Covid-19 virus has affected the world deeply, and as a result many now recognize the need to adjust our political, economic and social systems. No country exemplifies this need as does the US, which collapsed under pandemic mismanagement, gutted by free-market ideology and the push for profit maximization at all costs. Now those costs are hitting home.
The Overton window has moved, and the voice of the people has never been as potentially influential as it could be now in shaping the policies that can take us out of economic depression. It is up to the public to describe that future, insist on it, vote for it, and allow us to leave behind a system that is little more than economic Darwinism, lacking as it does, thoughtfulness, vision, compassion and conscience.
The Overton window applies equally to the worldwide anti-racism demonstrations occurring in sympathy with the killing of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter protests. In an astonishingly short time frame the Overton window is being forced open under intense public pressure on local, state and national political bodies, driving them to enact legislation to rein in police forces as they have become increasingly aggressive and militarized.
Although the response was muted due to worldwide media focus on the Covid-19 pandemic, the US Department of Defense (DOD), in a historic move, officially released on 27 April 2020 three video clips of unidentified aerial objects encountered and recorded by US Navy aviators while on training missions in 2004 and 2015.
The videos had been circulating in the public domain since December 2017 when one was leaked by The New York Times accompanying its blockbuster revelation that the Pentagon had conducted a secret program to investigate UAPs (unidentified aerial phenomena) from 2007 through 2012. Two more videos were leaked in March 2018 by To The Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences, a private company founded by former rock musician Tom DeLonge, which researches, collects and analyzes materials related to UFOs.
The leaked videos and New York Times coverage rekindled public and news media interest in UFOs and led to closed-door US congressional briefings by top Naval Intelligence officials. In the spring of 2019, a Navy spokesman announced that their branch of the US military was drafting new protocols so that pilots and other personnel could report their UFO sightings or encounters without fear of reprisal.
Then in September 2019, in response to widespread speculation about the origin and authenticity of the videos, the DOD confirmed they are genuine, but not officially declassified. The release in April was thus a formality, but devoid of any tantalizing new details about what the objects were.
An official statement accompanying the release of the videos reads in part: “… After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.”
UFO investigators and enthusiasts who parsed that section of the statement likely nodded with satisfaction, for it appeared to confirm that the physics-defying objects were not a top-secret advanced technology being tested by the DOD while naval pilots and radar technicians remained uninformed; or glitches in the aircrafts’ imaging software, or pilot error — all theories put forward in the media by a few prominent scientists and a host of skeptics.
“DOD is releasing the videos,” the statement concludes, “in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos. The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as ‘unidentified’.”
The Pentagon essentially confirmed that UFOs are real, but few understandably paid much attention during an international crisis.
We present a selection of quotations on the theme of ‘Awakening to responsibility’. The quotations are taken from Maitreya (Messages from Maitreya the Christ and Maitreya’s Teachings — The Laws of Life), Benjamin Creme’s Master (A Master Speaks, Volumes One and Two), and Benjamin Creme’s writings.
The June issue of Share International featured an article about the Belgian esotericist Elisabeth Warnon; the article ended with short excerpts from texts about the coming of Maitreya and the Masters of Wisdom. There are 18 texts in Elizabeth Warnon’s five books about Maitreya. Reading these different texts show, to my mind, that they are not all the same in tone and style. This could point to the possibility that these texts were dictated to her by different Masters (in one of the passages it is explained that, “To work for one Master is to work for all the Masters because They are One”). In some writings there are also aspects that can be considered as “unknown” or “new” compared to what we know already.
In Warnon’s books there is much talk about the ‘New Era’, the Coming of Maitreya and the Masters of Wisdom. Although I cannot prove that Elisabeth Warnon received her teachings from the Masters of Wisdom, her life and the quality of her writings are inspiring enough for me to submit this collection of quotations about Maitreya in a spirit of openness. May they inspire you as they inspire me.
Selected Messages about Maitreya and the new age
(A small selection from the writings of Elisabeth Warnon)
Maitreya’s New Era Manifestation
“How does it look? You see it in the collapse of old values. You perceive it in the fear, uncertainty and doubt that reign everywhere! But shouldn’t the foundations be undermined in order to bring down buildings? You are witnessing all these collapses. But then what?
Then comes the period of reconstruction.
The period of free and orderly creativity.
The period of co-ordination and co-operation.
The period of voluntary discipline.
The period of planetary unification.
How many more centuries will pass before humans are centred in the Universal Christ Consciousness? In this consciousness, all is Joy, all is Peace, all is Creativity! This will be the condition for the Golden Age to reappear on the spiral of time.” (The Aims and Direction of the Age of Aquarius)
The responsibility of humanity
“Maitreya’s time is entering a period of manifestation in which everyone can become a leader. The whole of nature aspires to be under His leadership. The leader needs to understand his duties and responsibilities towards humans, animals, trees and stones. How much the earth would be transformed if everyone became “King” in his own kingdom! When I speak of a king, I mean a protector, a supporter, a servant of the Hierarchy, a collaborator in His service. Love one another!
Have you not understood that in order to Love, you must accept the stripping, take up your cross and follow Me? If men could only understand that the word ‘sacrifice’ is synonymous with Joy. Does your soul open like the rose of spring? Does your soul smile like the face of a child in wonder? Then you understood! You are one of My people! You can read My secrets! You can draw from the riches of My Kingdom. Let your heart speak with My voice. May your mind create in harmony with Mine. May your hands distribute the roses of My garden. Oh you who can understand My words, awaken hearts, awaken souls!” (Book of Joy)
