July/August 1988
In every century a group of disciples is given a special task: the discovery or announcement of certain ideas and truths; the revealing of hitherto unknown facts about the nature of man or the universe; the enrichment of man’s spiritual life through art or religion; all of these avenues of approach have been used by the hidden Hierarchy to awaken man to the Reality in which he lives. Age after age, this process has continued, lending continuity to the teaching methods by which the Masters work. As the world stands poised on the threshold of the Aquarian dispensation all is in flux, all undergoing the ferment of change.
So, too, is it in Hierarchical circles. Without exception, the Masters Themselves are experiencing a reorientation of procedures and methods unlike aught known before. During the last five centuries, They have gradually inaugurated changes in approach in preparation for the Great Approach, the externalization of Their work in the world.
Not for nothing have They tested and looked afresh at every long-tried line of action, adapting where necessary to the new and growing sensitivity of men.
Now, waiting in the wings for the Day of Declaration which will signal Their Approach, the Guides of the race stand ready to serve advancing mankind. From the ranks of men the Masters have come; to Their ranks They beckon and welcome men.
That Their task will not be easy They know well. Long centuries have conditioned Them to work unseen and unannounced. Now, in the full light of day must They guide the destinies of men, leading them consciously to the mountain top. Averting Their gaze from the higher to the lower centre, They must together demonstrate Their readiness for the Higher Way.
Although long-trained and prepared, much remains to Them unknown. Men, from their divine free will, dictate the rate of progress and response. Only thus can the sons of men become the Sons of God.
Men await the coming of the Christ yet know not that He is here. So blind are they to the reality of life that they see not the Promise in their midst. Not alone the Christ but the vanguard of His group are now among you, awaiting the call to enter the affairs of men. Soon will They take up Their willing task and shepherd men into the fields of Knowledge and Love, Sacrifice and Service, Justice and Brotherhood.
Thus will men avail themselves of the higher knowledge of their Elder Brothers, and create with Them a civilization worthy of the name. Thus will men come to know that they are not alone, have never been so, nor will ever be. Always are the Masters at hand when help is needed; on that may men depend. Now in full measure will that help be forthcoming, given openly for all the world to see.
Thus will the centres come together and the Lord’s Will be done. Thus will it be.
