Share International is a non‐profit and non‐denominational worldwide network of individuals and groups, all volunteers, whose work brings together two major directions of contemporary thought — the political and the spiritual. Our main purpose is to make known the fact that Maitreya — the World Teacher for the coming age — and the Masters of Wisdom, are now among us and are gradually emerging into the public arena. At the same time, our aim is to show the synthesis underlying the political, social, economic and spiritual changes now occurring on a worldwide scale and to stimulate practical action to rebuild our world along more just and compassionate lines.
The name Share International refers to our conviction that the resources of the world — the food, raw materials, scientific and technological know‐how — should be distributed equitably among all according to need, if humanity is to create justice, trust, and therefore peace in the world. In practical terms, we believe that the first step towards achieving these goals must be to ensure that the basic essentials for life — adequate and appropriate food, housing, and access to healthcare and education — are available to all as a universal right. Alongside these prerequisites for justice and peace, the restoration of the environment is also seen as a major priority.
Our work is also informed by our belief that there is a spiritual dimension to life, that there are those who have manifested in themselves the divinity which is inherent in every human being, and that these "elder brothers" are here to help the rest of humanity (those of all faiths, as well as those of no religious affiliation) to that same achievement.
In addition to this website and sister sites in other languages, another vehicle for the dissemination of this information is Share International, a monthly magazine read in over 70 countries. Along with information about Maitreya's emergence, it includes articles relevant to his priorities: realization by humanity of our divine nature; a world at peace; the restoration of the environment; sharing of the world's resources; and adequate and appropriate food, housing, healthcare and education for all people.
