UFO sightings around the world

SRI LANKA – A UFO was spotted in the Sri Lankan town of Polonnaruw in June 2002. The unusually glimmering flying object was seen by a farmer and others in the area, including a television journalist, according to local media reports. The object was seen over Sri Lankan skies for nearly a week and eventually prompted the Sri Lankan Air Force to investigate the matter.
Polonnaruwa is an ancient Sri Lankan capital and is a popular tourist
attraction because it houses many rare historical ruins dating back to the first century AD. A team of astrophysicists is studying the Sri Lankan sky in an attempt to determine what the object was.

CHILE – Residents who live in the San Jose de Maipo district outside the Chilean capital Santiago have seen so many UFOs in the past two decades that the district's mayor, Miguel Marquez, has declared the region an official UFO tourism zone. He plans to erect two observation centres and place markers where there have been sightings. ìThis zone is the UFO capital of Chile,î says Marquez. ìMany people have had sightings, including me personally. I'm not going to say I've seen aliens, but I've seen objects.î

A typical sighting in the area is similar to the one described by truck driver Jose Ruben Guajardo. On 26 March 2002 at 4:30am he was riding in a truck near the San Jose volcano when he saw a huge lighted orange object coming towards the truck. He says it looked like a giant fish with antennae. ìI didn't tell anyone because no one would believe it. My wife told me I was lying,î Guajardo says. ìIt was with us for about half a minute to a minute, then we lost sight of it. Before that, I'd only seen them at a distance, but this one was
real close.î

ENGLAND – A fleet of UFOs was seen over Bedhampton, Havant, England, on 22 March 2002. It was witnessed and videotaped by Anthony Woods, a local resident who has been documenting on video the unusual activity of UFOs. Woods says the activity was so intense it seems to have attracted the interest of the military, whose helicopter presence in the area has increased.

Woods and his wife Samantha were amazed at the large number of white luminous spheres that, in perfect formation, seemed to be performing sophisticated manoeuvres in an amazing display of technology. Woods said: ìI first noticed a fleet of spheres above my home around midday; there were hundreds of them. Me, my wife and daughter watched them; I taped over 30 minutes of footage. They were locked together in strange formations, some moving as others hovered, some were touching each other. There were at least 100 objects, probably more. I have never seen so many together before.
After the initial fleet had departed, there were many single and group objects that appeared. I taped these for about 40 minutes.î The ìCommanding Leaderî of the UFOs then performed a display of spectacular manoeuvres.
