Since 1998 more than 200 sightings
of strange lights in the skies over Norway have been reported and
filed under ìunexplained phenomenaî. Norwegians living near the
Hessdalen Fjord have been amazed to see more than just the northern
lights: their skies have been filled with activity for a decade or
two. Spacecraft and other light phenomena were repeatedly seen and
reported. Eventually in 1998 a camera was put in place which
automatically records the flashes and inexplicable movements of
lights; since then the photographic record has accumulated more than
200 sightings. Sometimes flashing lights are seen – some are round,
some are long streaking objects, others bullet-like, some moved in an
extraordinary fashion, while others moved at enormous speed. The
flying objects did not confine themselves to the skies overhead but
were also seen flying above road-traffic in broad daylight. From the September 2001 issue of Share International magazine
